Payment Options

You are not required to pay for tuition until you arrive at the ELI.  During ELI orientation, you must pay in full for the first session or semester.  Installment plans, financial assistance, and loans are not available. You may not begin classes without payment.

You will receive separate bills from UMBC (due later) for health insurance, dormitory housing, and meal plans.

UMBC can accept the following types of payments:

Sponsored & scholarship students: many ELI students are sponsored by a government agency, embassy, or employer.  The ELI must receive the proper documents before UMBC can send a bill for ELI tuition to a third party.  Please contact the ELI before orientation for more information and instructions.

Refunds

If you drop classes or withdraw from the ELI after the first day of classes, you may not receive a full refund of your tuition payment:
